A RIVER'S STORY
"To me, the most important thing is to tell a good story. If I can do that, I think that enlightenment, respect of nature, etc. follows." -Kathryn Lasky, Writer
I had a two-week break between substitute and summer school teaching in the Greater Seattle Area, and had the opportunity to explore Mount Rainier. I was able to trace a river from its source, at the summit, to its initial leap, thousands of feet below. Here is its story:
Shifting Glacier (13,000+ ft)
Icicle Pond (10,000+ ft)
The Beginning (6000+ ft)
Downhill (5000 ft)
Stream (3000-2000 ft)
River (2500ft)
Racing Towards the Precipice (2000ft)
The Screaming Ghost In Glacier Tears: Waterfall (2000 ft)
